I have also included an email Don Williams sent out via the "Prayer Warriors" email list:

You heard it right - I'm shaving my head in solidarity with children who have cancer and typically lose their hair during treatment, while raising critical funds for childhood cancer research!

In the US, more children die of childhood cancer than any other disease. Please make a donation on my behalf to support childhood cancer research so that all children diagnosed with cancer will have a better chance for a cure. I am sure we have all been affected one way or another by cancer, but for so many, childhood cancer has been a firsthand experience.

In 2004, my friend Kristin McLeod’s younger brother, Rett McLeod, was diagnosed with stage IV neuroblastoma at age 3. I went to Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL to see him, and my eyes were open to the number of children fighting for life. The courage of children like Rett and others is inspiring to us all! Rett has won the battle so far, and he is approaching the five year mark since he was diagnosed. He is currently visiting Shands yearly for routine checkups, but he is continuing to be resilient, working hard in school, having fun playing baseball, and has turned out to be a fine young man. However, that is not the story for some of these children, and each day more are diagnosed with some form of cancer. Let’s do whatever we can to support foundations like St. Baldrick’s that raise money to research for a cure!

I need everyone’s help! Forward this to anyone that maybe willing to donate for the cause. It doesn’t matter to me whether they know me or not…seeing me with a bald head is going to be hilarious! Below is the link to my St. Baldrick’s Website.

If any questions or problems email me back, and I will be sure to resolve them asap.

Thanks,

Don Williams
